Most soups are easily converted to the slow cooker with some adjustments. I serve soups containing pasta separately typically, because they tend to absorb most of the liquid otherwise. Otherwise, wait to add pasta toward the last 30 minutes or so and cook on high until tender. Reduce liquid broths by about one-third. Generally for soups containing sour cream and heavy cream you will want to wait to add those toward the end also. Otherwise it's mostly browning meats and adding ingredients to the slow cooker.
