Creamy Taco Corn Dip (TikTok – My Way)

If you’re looking for a fun, scoopable party dip that disappears faster than you can set it out, this Creamy Taco Corn Dip is about to earn a permanent spot in your rotation.

It’s one of those simple, mix‑and‑chill recipes that somehow tastes like you spent way more time on it. The twist and what makes this version stand out is a surprising ingredient!

Just a quick reminder.... if you aren't interested in the chit chat, info, photos, tips, product recommendations and such on a blog, as always, you'll find the complete recipe text with measurements and instructions, as well as a printable document, a little bit further down the page.  Please swipe or scroll down to the bottom of the post for the recipe and printable!

Creamed corn.

I know, I know... it sounds a little crazy and I was like you are probably right now thinking, what in the world? But y'all, it really does work!

It melts right into the fluffy base and gives the dip a silky texture and just the right touch of corn flavor and sweetness.

This is the social media viral football dip from @brandycooks on TikTok with the addition of jalapeno. It’s cool, creamy, savory, lightly spicy, and absolutely perfect for tortilla chips, Fritos Scoops, and a big football‑watching crowd.

Here's what you'll need to make this Creamy Taco Corn Dip (TikTok – My Way):
  • 1 (12) ounce tub of whipped cream cheese
  • 1 (16 ounce) sour cream
  • 1 (0.4 ounce) packet dry Ranch seasoning mix (Restaurant Style recommended)
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet taco seasoning, or equivalent homemade
  • 1 (10 ounce) diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Rotel), drained
  • 1 (14.75 ounce) can cream-style corn
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican-style cheese
  • 1 green onion, sliced
  • 1 pickled jalapeno, chopped (I used San Marcos), optional

Here's how to make it!

First things first... I'm using fresh green onions, so by y'all know the drill... use a veggie wash (#ad) on your produce!

For seasonings, I'm starting with a 1-ounce packet of Taco Bell (#ad) mild taco seasoning. This brand has become a flavor favorite when a packet is more convenient than pulling out a stack of mixed seasonings from the cabinet. I've tried quite a few of them and I just really love the flavor profile of this brand. As to the Ranch, once again I'm following Brandy's lead from the original dip and using the 0.4-ounce restaurant style dressing version of Hidden Valley. You could certainly use any of the others, but you'll notice that sizes vary (0.4 to 1 ounce) among the different varieties.

I'm also following the lead on the whipped cream cheese. Using this version of cream cheese will result in a fluffy, soft and much more loose dip, even after refrigeration, so if you prefer a firmer textured dip, a room temperature softened block of cream cheese works just fine, if that’s what you already have on hand.

Add the cream cheese, sour cream, ranch and taco seasoning to a large bowl.

Blend together until mixed well and smooth.

Add the drained Rotel tomatoes and creamed corn. Blend everything together.

Why Creamed Corn Works

Creamed corn blends seamlessly into the cream cheese and sour cream, adding body and a subtle sweetness. It’s the secret ingredient that makes people pause mid‑bite and say, “Okay… what is that? It’s so good.”

Add the shredded cheese, green onion and jalapeno. You can use freshly grated cheese or because this is a cold dip, pre-shredded cheese works just fine. I'm using the Mexican style cheese.

Fold everything together.

By the way, these are two recent tools I've added to my kitchen.

If you've been around here any length of time you already know I use kitchen shears a lot - to chop tomatoes right in the can, to section chicken wings, to cut meat into bite sized pieces and for chopping veggies - like slicing green onion here. These are great multipurpose shears (#ad) and they are good and sharp.

The other I don't know what took me so long tool is a hands-free can opener.

Seriously helpful especially if you dislike having to clean an electric can opener or have hand dexterity issues with using a hand cranked unit. They have both battery operated and USB rechargeables now too, but one word of advice. Put it on the can, press the button and refrain from standing there watching it! Go and do some other prep, because while it doesn't take long, it's that same "watched pot never boils" thing again! Anyway, both are great tools for the kitchen.

I decided to add one pickled jalapeno, and it provides a nice little punch, without too much uncomfortable heat. I really have enjoyed this brand (#ad), introduced to me by another favorite TikTok content creator, @jenmoralesfam04. They come packed with these crispy sliced pickled carrots and she uses those too alot in various salads. They also offer those carrots canned individually (#ad) and y'all know I had to grab some of those too and, I actually thought about throwing some in this dip!

Heat Level Options

Use more jalapeños or add a pinch of cayenne, Creole or Cajun seasoning if you want a more bold, spicy kick. Keep it mild by sticking with the green onion only.

Make‑Ahead Friendly

This dip actually gets better as it chills. Mix it up, cover it, and let it rest in the fridge for a few hours so the flavors can settle in.

Blend everything together and transfer to a lidded storage container. Cover and chill for several hours or overnight.

Serving Suggestions

Scoop corn chips or tortilla chips are the classic choice here, but this dip is also fantastic with celery sticks, an assortment of mini multicolored bell peppers cut into strips or even tucked into mini tortillas for a fun appetizer bite.

This Creamy Taco Corn Dip is one of those easy, dependable recipes you’ll reach for again and again, especially when you need something fast, fun, and guaranteed to be a hit.

It’s creamy, flavorful, a little sweet, a little spicy, and absolutely perfect for football season, holidays, potlucks, or any time you’re feeding a crowd. Make it once, and you’ll understand why it’s headed straight into the “keeper” file.
