We've been sharing more of our classic favorites on social media lately and of course, considering I live right along the Gulf Coast that is very often seafood and certainly a lot of shrimp recipes!

I do love shrimp and it's a very versatile protein.

Of course Fridays have always been a seafood day here where I live, as much as Mondays have always been a red beans and rice day, but we have amazing seafood here along the Gulf Coast so any day can be a seafood day!

One day a new reader who had just joined our Facebook page and happened along there on a Friday, wondered in a comment if I ever shared anything but shrimp recipes. Well, of course I do! We don't eat seafood every day down here, although, to be honest, I certainly could without ever tiring of it.

Our seafood is incredible!

Thankfully, even those who don't live here have access to great fresh frozen seafood these days too, including our very own fabulous Gulf seafood - with one caveat.

Always check the origin of any frozen seafood you buy by checking the back of your packaging. Look for things like "Certified Cajun," "Gulf Seafood" or "Wild American" seafood, so you know without a doubt that you are investing in the absolutely best quality and flavor, while also supporting American fishermen and women.

A mixture of seasoned crab and a light binder of freshly toasted bread, pan fried in a bit of butter and oil. Serve alone as-is, or with spicy horseradish mustard, spicy mustard sauce, jalapeno cream sauce, remoulade sauce, or comeback sauce.

Fresh Gulf shrimp, marinated in milk, egg and hot sauce, then tossed in a well-seasoned hushpuppy dredge and deep fried to perfection.



A mix of lettuces with vegetables, shrimp and crab and tossed with a Creole Vinaigrette for a light main dish salad.

A breaded seafood dressing made with fresh shrimp, crabmeat and eggplant. Delicious!!



Wild American shrimp, seasoned and pan-seared, with a stir-fry of fresh vegetables and an Asian inspired orange sauce. Serve over hot, steamed rice.
