Coca-Cola BBQ Sauce
Yep. Recipes with Coca-Cola is a thing in the South!
I mean, after all, it is an Atlanta product. The company has been headquartered there since its founding in 1892.
Cola has found its way to recipes from marinades and sauces, to pulled pork, ribs, beans and even desserts and if you want the real deal, the bottled version is still the best in my humble opinion, even better when you have access to cane sugar based Mexican Coke.
Just a quick reminder.... if you aren't interested in the chit chat, info, photos, tips, product recommendations and such on a blog, as always, you'll find the complete recipe text with measurements and instructions, as well as a printable document, a little bit further down the page. Here's what you'll need to make my Coca-Cola BBQ Sauce:
- 3 (8 ounce) bottles classic Coca-Cola
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar (level, not packed)
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon each onion powder, garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 (12 ounce) chili sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose sauce (Country Bob's, Cajun Power Garlic Sauce)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
Here's how to make it!
Combine all of the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil.
Reduce and low simmer until thickened.

Remove from heat and set aside to cool. Transfer to a lidded jar and refrigerate until needed. I picked up some of these swirl Mason jars awhile back, perfect for this sauce! If you're not using some of your sauce right away, you'll need a couple of them.

Thick, sweet and tangy, it's a fantastic condiment for burgers and as a barbecue finishing sauce.

This sauce is great anywhere you use your favorite barbecue sauce, like for anything grilled.

And, it's also a great meatball sauce too!

I made a crockpot full of these for a gathering recently.

They were gone in a flash!
