Billie's Pecans

Cinnamon Spiced Pecans from Billie's Pecans

Billie's Pecans

I just love the opportunity to share a Mississippi company with y'all, so when Billie's Pecans contacted me to see if I'd like to try a sample, I was thrilled! Headquartered in Crenshaw Mississippi, the story of how Billie's came into existence, is one that any working mom can appreciate.

Raising her family of boys on a farm lined with pecan trees, Billie would retrieve the excess pecans that had fallen to the ground, using them to make the first batch of what would become her now famous cinnamon spiced pecans, like these pictured, right in her own family kitchen. Y'all, let me tell you, these are perfect - the best cinnamon spiced pecans I've ever tasted. Let's just say that they didn't last long.

With the encouragement of her son, she began selling her spiced pecans around town and built a business strictly from word of mouth. Founded in 1981, today the business is housed in a 100 year old building where Billie's family continues her legacy, shipping about 8,000 pounds of pecans treats every year.

Pecan Cheese Crispies. Awesomely addictive!
Although I only tried the cinnamon spiced pecans and cheese crispies, Billie's offers a wide assortment of other pecan based products, including toasted pecans, pecan halves and pieces, and other goodies like pecan brittle and toffee, cakes, and an assortment of chocolate covered pecans, including milk, white and dark chocolate, sugar free and chocolate infused with Grand Marnier and Amaretto, many of which are also available in sampler boxes.

Found in some specialty stores, you may also order Billie's Pecans online at their website http://billiespecans.com, or by phone at 800-624-7404. While Billie's ships year-round, the deadline to order to receive in time for Christmas 2014 is December 18th and Billie's has extended a limited time offer to Deep South Dish readers for a discounted purchase.

The first 35 readers who spend $50 or more at BilliesPecans.com before December 31, 2014, will receive $10 off their order (before taxes and shipping). Use promo code DSD2014 when you check out.

Connect with Billie's Pecans and tell them Deep South Dish sent ya!

Billie's Pecans make wonderful holiday gifts and party nibbles, but they are equally delicious in holiday recipes. Here's a recipe that Stacy, Billie's Pecan's owner/president and Billie's daughter-in-law, shared with us that would be great on your holiday table.

Pecan-Honey Butter
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped toasted pecans
  • 2 tablespoons honey
Stir together butter, pecans and honey. Store in refrigerator up to 1 week or freeze up to 1 month.

    2. I don't mean to be disagreeable two posts in a row Mary, but I find it hard to believe they are better than yours lol. I made yours and they were the best I ever had. If these are better, I had better stay away from them, my self control was decidedly lacking on the last batch of yours I made.

Perusing their site though made me wonder how YOUR spicy cheese bites would be with chopped pecans in it like their "Cheese Crispies." We made those last night and they were so good that only about 6 are left. (Pecan fingers and sugar cookies today, and now maybe some spiced pecans).

I COULD of course be tempted with the many other types she has lol.

    3. Ha! Tell me about it. It was difficult not to eat every single one of these in one sitting!! I only had the opportunity to taste the cinnamon spice but they were fantastic - flawless pecan halves and the coating was perfection. Just delicious. I'm sure all of the products are fine & a great option for folks who just don't have the time to make it all.

Minced pecans would be a nice addition to those cheese bites - I haven't done it with that recipe, but with that amount of dough 1/8 to 1/4 cup would probably be enough.

  5. Hi!~ I grew up in North Carolina, but have lived in Alaska for almost 22 years. I was never much of a cook, until the past three years, I have been learning and enjoying learning how to cook~ I have been searching for authentic Southern recipes, and am so happy that this morning, I found your website!! I am getting ready to try the Saltine Cracker Candy recipe. My 15 yr. old daughter and I have tried other versions of it, but yours looks so good and the recipe is easy to follow. I have looked at quite a few of your recipes this morning, and not only have they brought back wonderful memories of dishes my Grandmother made, but they all seem very easy to make with your pictures and well written recipes!~
    Thank you!!
