More Things to Do With Ground Beef

Need more ideas for things to cook with ground beef? Here's another collection of recipes from Deep South Dish blog to give you some inspiration!

More Things to Do With Ground Beef

Previously, I brought you a round-up of 25 Terrific Recipes to Make with Ground Beef and so many of you found it a convenient post to refer back to, that you asked for an updated list. I've added 23 more recipes from the website here for you to browse through at your convenience.

Some are very basic, some are older recipes from back before I even dreamed the sporadic food posts on my little original blog would become a bigger forum. Some recipes you may recognize, some you may have missed or forgotten about, but along with the first series, these should help to give you a well rounded reference point of some more things to do with ground beef, when you're looking for some inspiration. If you missed the first series, visit here to check them out!

Garlic Bread Butter Blend

My garlic bread butter blend is made using unsalted butter and some great seasonings, it's easy to make and full of flavor!

Garlic Bread Butter Blend

Okay, yes, I know. It's only garlic bread.

Melt some butter, brush it on some bread, sprinkle a little garlic powder on top, pop it in the oven and you're done. True.

But, this is a step up from that and it's the butter blend that I've been using for my basic garlic bread for years.

Chicken Pot Pie Soup with Pie Crust Crackers

The elements and flavors from classic chicken pot pie - chopped chicken, potatoes, peas and carrots - in a creamy base - in an easy soup, with pie crust crackers for dipping.

Chicken Pot Pie Soup

I made this soup using elements of my Chicken Pot Pie recipe as the base, but I totally stole the idea for the pie crust crackers from Food Network Magazine's {affil link} December 2012 issue.
They used a commercial, refrigerated crust, but homemade pie crusts are really so easy to whip up I decided to make one and incorporate the seasonings in the dough, rather than just on top. To shorten prep time, substitute a commercial crust, but please do make the crackers, either way. They really just make this soup perfect.

Hearty Slow Cooker Beef Stew

I've made this stew a few times over this fall and winter, but the process of measuring out, documenting and photographing a recipe, so that other folks can follow it too, can be a bit daunting at times, when all you really want to do is just sit down and eat!

Most people associate Gooey Butter Cake with Paula Deen, because it was brought to the forefront of everybody's attention and became famously associated with the Queen Deen, who added a multitude of variations to it.

Basic Egg Salad

Some of you will think it's downright silly to have a "recipe" for egg salad, but believe it or not, I get asked all the time how I make mine, and folks land on my other egg salads all the time from Google, looking specifically for an egg salad recipe. I guess they are just looking for approximate measurements, or just curious to see what other folks do. Makes sense to me!

Anyway, I had a craving for some egg salad and made a batch this weekend, so I finally decided to take some photos to put it up on the site. Since many of you are likely on food overload right now from all those Super Bowl eats and probably not really all that interested in any new recipes today, I thought it might be a good time to sneak in a post on the way I like to make my egg salad.

Mini Italian Sandwiches

Perfect minis for a party, these sandwiches are layered with provolone cheese, black forest ham, salami and your choice of Italian cold cuts, such as hot capolcollo or mortadella, dressed with creamy Italian dressing, lettuce, tomatoes and olives, if you like.

Mini Italian Sandwiches

Now, first caveat before I get lectured, this is not intended to be any kind of authentic Italian sub or hoagie. There was a pizza joint near my Biloxi apartment many many years ago, and I was addicted to one of their menu sandwiches, called the Mona Lisa.

Like a muffuletta, I could get one of those and eat on it for days.
