I'm nibbling at a bowl of Mary's beef veggie soup. I had to leave the beef and noodles out as I recently had major stomach surgery and am just now able to eat small amounts of soft veggies. This soup is fantastic!! I'd rather sip my soup and look at your website than watch the Superbowl!!...LOL

Crock Pot BarBQue 1-2 pork loin roasts with ribs (...

Crock Pot BarBQue
1-2 pork loin roasts with ribs (2lbs each, approx)
1 cup apple juice
1 tsp red pepper flakes
Barbque sauce, bottled, your choice

Place roasts standing, ribs facing in a large sized crock pot. Pour in juice and sprinkle with pepper flakes. Cover. Cook on high over night for 9 hours. In the morning, remove meat and let cool. remove fat and shred meat. Drain liquid from crockpot and wash if you wish. Place shredded meat back in and add barbque sauce of your liking until meat is coated but not swimming. Heat on low until thoroughly heated. Serve with cole slaw and buns.
This has been a favorite in our family since 1977. You can feed an army with this recipe and multiple recipes in multiple crock pots are easy to do. Do not use picnic shoulders.

There is a sizable number of "expatriated" Southerners in the area, among which we number ourselves. (She, by natural temperament, being Italian-Albanian in ethnic extraction, and me, by virtue of having been born and raised in Southwest Louisiana (Lake Charles) and in New Orleans
(Metairie).)

Many thanks for maintaining, as it were, a "sanity lifeline" for those of us who are out here, and not back there. Your recipes are
"spot-on" authentic, and your commentary on both our "Southern way of life" and all things in general, from your outpost looking

Okay, so my husband is the biggest of all Saints fan. We actually have a Saints flag flying in our front yard all the way up here in Amarillo, Texas. Anyhow, to share our menu. I just found your blog through Twitter and I am from the south and we just moved to a suburb of Cincinnati Ohio. We LOVE football. We even have season tickets to the Florida State games and we went to New Orleans for the Natl Champ game in 2000. That is the best food I have ever eaten! Anyway, we love Peyton Manning so my husband and son will be pulling for the Colts. Now, any other time I would be pulling for him (and I do think that it is going to be tough for NO to beat them) but my heart wants NO to win just because they have never won or even been for that matter. I just hope for a great game. I am going to make some of your dishes.
