As hot as it was this summer, and as much as people had sworn off their stoves, much less their ovens, I noticed across the interwebs that there was one outstanding exception. Desserts.

Share a supper recipe on Facebook in the midst of the summer heat, even one that required only a quick pass in the oven and people moaned about the thought of turning on an oven, but share a delectable dessert that had to bake an hour and it's Facebook Shares Go Wild!

Southerners overwhelmingly love their desserts, no matter the temperature outside, and we're clearly willing to turn on our ovens on a hot summer day to satisfy that sweet tooth. Was this you? Well, Southern Living has just the cookbook for you!

Southern Living has been a trusted source for recipes for years, and they have been digging through and reworking their extensive 45 years of recipe archives, to round up some of their best, introducing some impressive cookbooks the past few years.

Southern Living Classic Southern Desserts is a fine representation of just that. For a chance to win a copy for yourself, read on!

Triple Decker Strawberry Cake
This softcover cookbook is packed with more than 200 recipes, submitted by generations of home cooks just like you and me. Arranged by types of desserts, and including gorgeous photography for every single recipe, you'll find recipes for luscious layer cakes like Hummingbird Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Apple Stack Cake, Triple Decker Strawberry Cake, Italian Cream Cake, Four-Layer Coconut Cake, Caramel Cake, Lane Cake, Double Chocolate Praline Cake and more.

They didn't miss cookies either, giving us recipes for Chunky Chocolate White Chocolate Espresso Cookies, Sand Dollars, Oatmeal Cookie Sandwiches with Rum-Raisin Filling, Ultimate Chocolate Chip, Coconut Macaroons, Smoky Mountain Snowcaps and Toffee Oatmeal Cookies and several more.

In the chewy cookie bar category, you'll find Cappuccino-Frosted Brownies, Turtle Cookie Squares, Streusel Topped Lemon Shortbread Bars and Pecan Pie Brownies, to name a few.

Double Chocolate Cheesecake

Available right now with the click of a mouse from your favorite online bookstores like Amazon and at major book retailers everywhere, this is one cookbook you are sure to enjoy adding to your own personal collection, as well as for gift giving for upcoming birthdays, along with a basket of baking goodies for new brides, or as Christmas gifts for some of your favorite people.

  145. As a newly wed bride,I would so love to win so that I can put the book to good use in making desserts for my husband and his family members since right now I make terrible desserts that are either too hard, not moist enough or over bake them(they are sometimes hard like baseballs lol).

  149. I love Southern Living cookbooks, especially the Christmas one where I made Mamie's Fudge. It has been made during the Christmas holidays for years and it's a hit with the family. Please include my name in the contest; I would love to bake more goodies out of this cookbook.
