Memorial Day is right around the corner y'all! Why is it time drags when you are young, but once you become a man or woman of a certain age, it seems to fly by? It is almost June! {and, ugh.. hurricane season for us}

Besides the commemoration of our country's servicemen and women who have died in the line of duty, Memorial Day also kicks off the unofficial beginning of summer in the U.S., with sporting events like the Indianapolis 500, family gatherings, picnics and, of course, yummy barbecues!

If you're looking for some time-tested, tried and true recipe ideas for your party, I've gathered below just a few of my own recipes fitting for a Memorial Day feast, however, be sure to pop by my updated BIG LIST OF COOKOUT & PARTY FOOD MENU IDEAS!

  11. What a great blog. Glad I found you through SITS. I hope we have a dry weekend here in the NW after two months of almost daily rain! Seeing these recipies, it's time to pour the water out of the BBQ and fire it up!

  13. My husband and I checked out your spread and both said, "Ahhh, deviled eggs, we need to make some!" Everything looks delicious, that is just something we only seem to make in the Spring and Summer. Thanks so much for your inspiration!

  14. I made your Carolina Style Pulled Pork and my hubs loved it. He is a huge fan of Smithfield's BBQ in NC and had very low expectations of my efforts when I told him what I was making. But boy did he change his tune quick. HE LOVED IT!! Thank you for all these great recipes.

    I also made the baked spare ribs and they were awesome, too!
