Lazy Man's KetMayo Sauce

A dipping sauce blend of equal parts ketchup and mayonnaise, nicknamed KetMayo, has loads of black pepper and a dab of horseradish and works well with a variety of foods.

Lazy Man's KetMayo Sauce

This is The Cajun's favorite, general purpose dipping sauce. What can I say? He's a very simple man. I suspect most of it is that besides having a good taste, it's easy to remember. He uses this for just about anything - boiled seafood, fried seafood, and chicken strips, though it's good for French fries, onion rings, fried pickles, and well, a lot of things really, including as a sandwich spread. Since it's a simple combination of ketchup and mayonnaise, I call it KetMayo - akin to a sauce served by a similar name at one of our local restaurants.

There aren't any amounts listed, frankly because it just depends on how much you need. Just use equal parts of mayonnaise and ketchup, add lots of freshly cracked black pepper and a dab or more of prepared horseradish.

If you think this sounds yummy, I'd sure it if you'd click to pin it, tweet it, stumble it, or share it on Facebook to help spread the word - thanks!

  1. Up north, we call this salad dressing or "Fry Sauce" I'm gonna try it on Fried Green Tomatoes, like you recommended. That should be really tasty. North, South, East, or West this is some good stuff!

  2. Great sauce! My wife and I also use it as a dipping sauce for artichokes, or drizzled over sliced beets. Not bad either for dressing a cheeseburger, with or without sweet relish added.

    1. It's simple, but it really is pretty darned good! Thanks for stopping by!!

  3. Sounds really good. Definitely will try it. A friend in a catering business used mayo, ketchup and chopped boiled eggs for a dip, that was also yummy.

    1. Sounds like Thousand Island dressing which we sure love down here too! This is just a simple combo my hubby loves to whip up, but it works!
